Today's stitches will be

Herringbone and half double herringbone

Herringbone

This stitch is a multiple of 7 plus 1

R1: (wrong side)  - purl
R2: * k2tog,  k2, inc as follows, insert point of right hand needle from the top down through the (purled) head of the st below next st, and k; then k the st above; k2; rep from *, end k1.
R3: purl
R4: k1, *k2, inc as r2, k2, k2tog;  rep from *.

Rep R 1- 4.

Half double herringbone

Any number of stitches plus 2.

R1: hdc across. Ch 2 turn.
R2:  * draw up a loop,  pull thru 1 loop on the hook, yo, pull thru 2 loops.

Repeat these 2 rows until you have a square.
